Gabe is very special to us. We consider him "our once in a lifetime dog". Little did we know, when we purchased Gabe to be our companion, that he would literally change our lives. Entering the world of showing dogs, we did it "our way". We accompanied Gabe to every show and never sent him off with a handler. After all, he was our baby first, and a show dog second. Many long-time breeders called us "pet people" - a title that we wear proudly! |

| Gabe was expertly handled almost exclusively by Carol Gefell, a local handler. The two of them formed a bond that always came shining through in the ring. Gabe was only shown on a limited basis and finished his championship quickly, both in the US and in Canada. He then embarked on his career as a "special", winning many Best of Breeds and a Best In Specialty Show and numerous Group placements. | ||

Gabe came out of a two year retirement at the age of 8 1/2 to win Best Veteran in Show at the Tioga County Kennel Club show in August 2005. He has passed on his excellent qualities to many of his offspring, which has earned him his ROM status. We couldn't ask for anything more from this sweet, lovable boy, as he has opened a wonderful new world of competition, enabled us to make many excellent new and lasting friendships and given us pride that we never imagined could be bestowed upon us. | |
